Apparel designs are always fun. In addition to a typical design on other mediums, apparel designs require taking into careful consideration fabric choices and how the design will be printed. Various printing methods will yield a very different final product although the exact same design is used. Therefore in apparel design, it’s not just about the design itself but also about the feel of the fabric the design will go on, the method in which the design will be printed on the apparel and the color limitations of the particular method in which the design will be printed with.
Oftentimes, as with this particular case, I am asked to create an entire showroom for an organization so that they can sell merchandise and apparel to a particular audience. Sometimes, the showroom is a temporary landing page so the organization can offer specific items for a particular fundraiser, other times, the showroom can be a more permanent store for parents, colleagues, teams and businesses to purchase merchandise. Regardless, of the purpose, a lot goes into the designing of the items offered.
